In January, 2009, the United States Power Squadrons (USPS) and OceanGrafix entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to mutually promote each other's organizations and services, with the goal of increasing safety at sea.
The USPS mandate, through ongoing education of its members, is to encourage safe boating practices amongst recreational mariners. The USPS has approximately 45,000 members nationwide.
The mandate of OceanGrafix is to encourage the use of NOAA nautical charts, and in particular, the use of charts which are 100% up to date at the time of printing. OceanGrafix NOAA POD (print on demand) nautical charts are only printed "on demand", with all of the latest Local Notices to Mariners and other updates from NOAA and other organizations.
