| Description: | The entrance to San Francisco Bay is through Gulf of the Farallones and the narrow Golden Gate. The gulf extends from Point San Pedro on the S for 34 miles to Point Reyes on the N, and has a greatest width of 23 miles from Farallon Islands on the W to the mainland.
Southeast Farallon, the largest of the group, actually consists of two islands separated by a narrow impassable gorge. |
