| Description: | Calcasieu Lake, at the head of Calcasieu Pass, 6 miles from the Gulf, is 15 miles long, 3 to 5 miles wide, and 5 to 7 feet deep.
Calcasieu River and Ship Channel. N of Calcasieu Pass, the ship channel cuts across points of land along the W side of Calcasieu Lake to a junction with the Calcasieu River at Choupique Island. The channel is straight and well marked by lights and lighted ranges. |
