A canal has been cut from Lake Michigan across a narrow strip of land to the head of Sturgeon Bay, and thence a dredged channel leads through Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay. The Lake Michigan entrance to the canal is about 126 miles N of Milwaukee Harbor, across the lake W of Frankfort, Mich.
